Red Crow College 25th Anniversary Celebration

Red Crow College celebrated their 25th Anniversary on September 15th and 16th 2011. on the 15th Dr. Cynthia Chambers was awarded the first ever honorary P.h.d from Red Crow College. DR. Ernie Ingles, Dr. Jane O'day, Dr. Marinus Swanepoel and Dr. Vivian Ayoungman received honorary P.h.d's on the 16th. Marinus Swanepoel received a Blackfoot name from one of Kainai's distinguished elders Martin Heavy Head. The name Marinus received is Ninaimsskaikkimaani meaning Thunder Pipe Top Knot Feather. Marinus has been involved with the Blackfoot Digital Library since this project started. Marinus has been very supportive and continues to be one of our greatest supporters from the University of Lethbridge. Marinus initiated the partnership between Red Crow College's Kainai Studies Department and the University of Lethbridge Library.
